Cosplay will once again take center stage at Comic Con Cape Town 2025 with qualifiers for two of the worlds biggest cosplay competitions!
CCCT ‘26 will play host to the fifth World Cosplay Summit (WCS) Regional Qualifier - teams of two create costumes based on Japanese manga, anime, or other pop culture characters, then take to the stage for a 2-minute 30-second skit performance. The winning team will represent South Africa at the WCS Championship event in Nagoya, Japan in 2027, and for the first time it will be in Winter!
For the Second Year Running, South Africa has been invited to compete in the biggest cosplay stage event in Europe - the Extreme Cosplay Gathering! Teams of 1, 2, 3, or 4 people are invited to create costumes of many different source medias and showcase how they can perform! Solo or as a Team. 2026 Will be the first year we send a rep but you will be qualifying for 2027 so you have more time to prepare!

The Extreme Cosplay Gathering (ECG) is an international cosplay contest held at Japan Expo in Paris, France. It brings top cosplayers worldwide to perform on Europe’s largest cosplay stage and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
